Things are going okay... just really busy. I am working part time, trying to keep up with the kids, etc.

Another Setback

I just wanted to let you know, I had another seizure on Saturday, so I'll most likely be quiet for a little while.

Wednesday was my 32nd Birthday.  I was asked by a well meaning friend at Church if I thought I would make it to my Birthday last year.  It seemed to really bother me for some reason.  If you don't already know, I believe we had a great time on my Birthday last year, but things went down hill very fast. In less than 6 weeks I was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor, a huge honking Brain Tumor.  I really must say that in a way it truly was a blessing.  There are a great many things that I forgot to appreciate, and now I can say that I appreciate everything. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

I have had to make a very difficult decision.

I have been thinking really hard about this over the past few weeks and I have decided that Shteeni Knits No More.

I just can't get into it. I had forgotten that once upon a time, I used to paint and craft and read, etc. I kind of miss those things. I have tried to knit things (even as simple as a dishcloth) and I just can't do it. 

So, now that I can drive and get to the post office, I will be selling off my stash, books, accessories, etc.

I think I might either have an auction type deal or a set price.  However, to keep my sanity, I will only be offering maybe 2 or 3 items per day.

Squadders, you may come over and rummage for first dibs.

I'll still keep my blog, cuz I kinda like it.

The Phoenix

2 days ago, I was sitting in my car, waiting for T's bus and reading my mail. I noticed I had received my Blue Moon Fiber Arts  Rockin' Sock Club package. I was seriously considering giving it away. But, I was curious, so I took a peek.

I haven't been in the best of spirits lately. The last time I was at my oncologists office, he mentioned that I may be on chemotherapy for a lot longer than originally planned. I really truly try to be strong, but, I have to tell you CHEMO WEEK SUCKS!!!

As you may recall, I haven't really been feeling the whole knitting thing since the surgery. I CAN knit, I just don't feel like it.

At any rate, I opened the package to find this absolutely breathtaking skein of  oranges, reds, pinks and golds. The skein is aptly named FIREBIRD. Wow. Just what I needed! A firebird is also known as a Phoenix. I am going to take this as a sign that I need to rise out of those ashes, sooner than later. So along with Poison Ivy, that's it for now!
